I am talking to the tracks at this time and trying to find out what will work best for all parties involved. My goal is to have a 24 car field to start the main Feature on Sat. night. This year, I am going to provide a two day show instead of a three day show ,as we did in 2010.
I understand that alot of the teams out of the Midwest could not make it in 2010 due to weather, funds and of course, not sure if the purse was real. Well, I paid my stated purse, paid the lap money and all other sponsorship money to the field. I am hoping that ALL of the Midwest teams will come down and take some of our money home with them. I will even be working on getting some NON-Qualfier money to be awarded.
Update: Aug. 10- I have a track to run at......I am looking for a "Event" Sponsor and will be looking for additional sponsors. If anyone would like to help, I would greatly appreciate it.
Aug. 23- The races have been CANCELED as stated above. Sorry to the owners, drivers, and sponsors, I really was looking forward to providing a great race weekend for all involved.
Rules:
1) American Racer tires MUST be used and meet your club rules.
2) FMARA, UMRA, MTQRL, and IMRA cars and rules are welcome.
3) This is an open event and not a points race.
4) No chain drives, wings, airfoils, or extreme offset cars will be allowed.
5) 2 spin rule is in effect all weekend.
6) If you Tip over/Flip , you will NOT be able to restart.
Race Format:
Top 20 cars in Qualifing will start the Feature on Sat.
Top 4 cars in the Non-Qualfiers race will make up the last two rows of the Feature
Heat races will determine starting line-up for the Feature
Qualifing: 2 laps, best lap time
Heat Races: 10 laps
Non-Qualfiers Race: 15 Laps, top 4 transfer
Feature: 35 Laps
